Last post

The last post was actually created a couple weeks ago... but there was something wrong with one of the pictures. Again, I've been super busy but thought I might reflect on the past few weeks.

First of all I have to say I have some incredible friends! Steph I absolutely love that we have children that are close in age and that we are able to share similar experiences and that you are so open to talk with and that our personalities seem to mesh well together and there are so many things! I mean look how adorable our two little ones are together:) Funny to think it wasn't that long ago when we first met and you said "oh are you the other pregnant girl? me too!"

But of coarse they are adorable look at us:)

And Sophia is adorable too!

And Emily and Jillian we have been friends forever! When Gary and I talk about Connor being an only child I say it will only be possible if he has friends like I did. I love getting together with you guys and even when life keeps us busy we are always able to pick back up and be close again. I know the three of us will be close as little old ladies:)

There are so many memories from my childhood. Thank you for making me the person I am today I love you guys so much! Thanks for being the sisters I never had (you too Alex!)

So that's all the friends I have haha well that really mean a lot to me and read my blog:) Love you guys!

The busy Adams Family

Ok so it's been a while since I've blogged... I've been super busy!!

Not only do I have an adorable, fun, engergetic, toddler to take care of, I've been working two jobs and we are finally buying a house!!

Connor turned two just over two months ago and we have just gotten around to getting his pics done:) Isn't he cute! He loved his Dr. Suess themed birthday party he still wears his hat and sleeps with his cat every night.

It's amazing how much he has changed not only over the past two years but in the last few months. He knows his colors and shapes and is talking more and more every day (thank god, I can't stand the whining!) He has come up with some cute names for people too when he can't say their names. He calls the little girl Kaya that I nanny for KyKy and every morning he asks "going see KyKy?" He really adores her which is great since he has to be with her 4 days a week:)

I believe on Connor's birthday I had posted something around the lines "bring it on terrible twos" what was I thinking. Although things have gotten better in the past few weeks, I couldn't help but feel bad that Connor seemed more upset about everything and all I wanted to do was pull my hair out! Today has been a wierd day he's wanted to be on his own playing with his animals in his crib... Hence why I'm able to sit down and blog:)

We have moved into a new era of Elmo (he's kinda over Dora now depite me encouraging it since I think it's more educational) he only likes the super babies episode (thank goodness we have tivo). I guess Elmo is more boyish so when he wants Elmo stuff it's red instead of the pink Dora stuff. His other new obsession is building forts (that's always fun to hear him say). So between him building and destroying his forts that is enough to keep me pretty busy....

But also watching two kids has kept me pretty busy too... So Gary and I had disccused that I would start looking for a second nanny job in June so that I would be for sure working full time come September so that we could start saving more to buy our house in March 2012 (wait were buying a house next month). After much searching and being turned down family after family because I had to bring Connor with me, I came across an add of a family that was willing to do a nanny share!!! They are perfect, super nice, fun loving family, who has a little girl the same age as Connor (she turns two in Sept) and they love that she has been picking up on words from Connor!! Right now I still watch Henry on Mondays sometimes then I work with Kaya Tues, Thrus, Fri, Sat... Come September I'll be watching Henry Mon/ Tues and Kaya Wed-Sat (at least I'm off by 3 every day with Kaya)... So busy busy busy is what we are:) Needless to say I'm looking forward to Sunday (Zoo in the morning with Steph and date night with the hubby!)

House plans were set for March 2012 until after Connor's birthday my parents asked us when we were moving out... So we did some housing research and actually found how much it had dropped in the past 6 months and found the perfect home for us!! It's a little townhome 3 bed 2 1/2 bath & loft in Windswept waters near Damascus. Connor will be going to the new Vern Duncan School and we coudln't be happier with the nieghborhood set up! Closing date is now set to August 22nd a week before our 2 year anniversary! So now it's been the fun part looking at all the stuff that is going to go in it!

Well now we are headed to the beach for the day to see my Aunt and Uncle who are in town! Have a wonderful day:)

Proud

This morning I can't help but feel proud. Proud of my little boy who is growing up too fast, proud of myself for taking time to go to the gym and sticking with it, and proud of my marriage and my relationship I have with Gary:)

Yesterday we took Connor to the dentist... he did so great! I remember the first time I took him about a year ago the dentist had said that around two they would try to clean their teeth, but sometimes it doesn't happen. Connor loves to brush his teeth so when the lady handed him a new toothbrush he went right to brushing and let her clean all his teeth and put fluoride on:) What a big boy he was he sat there all by himself and didn't move at all he listened well and it was an over all pleasant experience... He did say he was all done while we were waiting for the dentist to check him out but a little ech-a-sketch fixed that quickly:)

Connor is also fully potty trained!?! REALLY?!? He's not even two yet? I don't even know how this happened I guess he really was done with diapers (he loved saying goodbye to them). He still wears a diaper at night and we put him in a pull up if we are going to be out for a while or at the gym, but if were just running to Safeway he goes without one and he has gone twice in the public potty!!!

He is picking up new words every day I can't even count all that he knows now but he does know all his body parts (including elbow, knee, and butt) too cute! Now if I could only get it on video tape that would be great. He's saying colors and some shapes, and he loves all his stuffed bears... Yesterday I was going through his summer clothes from last year which are too small (18 months) good thing old navy had 25% off yesterday:) And he found his bag of stuffed animals (I had hid them because at night he wanted them all in his bed) he took one at a time out of his room off somewhere, then he came back to his room and grabbed my hand and said "mama bed mama bed" he had put them all in our bed and wanted to cuddle. It was getting close to nap time so we laid there for a little bit then he wanted me out and said "door" so I told him we needed to go potty and go to his bed and sure enough he was out:)

I really am proud of my little boy and what a good boy he is, yes he has his moments where he wants his way but for the most part he really is a sweet heart and loves to be the center of attention:)

So we joined the gym almost two months ago maybe more than that... I have been going 5 days a week for the past month 1/2 and meet with a personal trainer twice:) GO ME! So I don't have gorgeous abs yet, but last night I noticed my legs are looking toned yay for shorts now we just need some sun:) I have also put on weight since working out which has kinda bothered me a bit even though most of it is muscle my jeans are a little tight, so I started tracking what I was eating and I wasn't eating enough, adding food to my diet has really helped this last week, so hopefully it will all even out although my trainer wants me to weigh 125 (at 20% body fat) I still can't help but know that that weight is when my jeans start to get too tight and 115 is like ideal for me everything fits and I haven't been under 120 since Connor was born so it would be kind of nice to get back to the official pre-pregnancy weight but I know it's always been in that range maybe 118 would be perfect:) I'll just keep looking at this picture from my senior year in high school until then.

Speaking of high school, I am one of the few who actually marries their high school sweetheart. Ok maybe we were on again off again sweethearts with a rocky road ahead but looking at where were are now and how we have been for the past 3 years is amazing. We grew up and we changed and we changed for the better and grew up together. Gary is someone I can talk to about anything and he listens to me and I listen to him. We always find a way to find an agreement on things and are there to support eachother. So maybe all those tears I cried in highschool were wroth it, everyone cries in highschool. But deep down I always knew Gary and I would be together forever, even when he told me he didn't love me like that I knew and I was right:)

Day two....

Wow I really didn't think I would be this happy about potty training! Things are going great! After he woke up from his nap yesterday he was wet (but I think it will be quite a while before we get naps and bed times totally dry) and it took about 2 1/2 hours for him to go again. Gary was home and I told him he needed to be my supportive partner in this potty training thing he loved that:) So we took turns watching him closely. The next two pees he stopped himself and I took him to the potty and he went big time!!!! This morning he went the whole morning without going I even extended his nap time.... Just waiting and waiting and waiting.... I think Connor liked it haha. Finally I said lets go pee on the potty and sat him down, he pointed at himself said pee pee and sure enough he went pee again! Now hes happily asleep. This potty training technique is way better than the sitting them down every hour or so with pull ups because especially boys don't care if they go in their pull up, this trains them to realize they are going. Yes it's been a little wired following him around everywhere and constantly waiting for him to pee but after a few weeks I think it will be less watching and more him going on his own:) Hope Gary can keep up the consistency the next two days while I'm at work. But I really think Connor is happy to be saying bye to diapers; he hated them:) I'm planning on taking him to the mall play area for an hour this afternoon after he pees on the potty... hopefully (which he should) he stays dry the whole time and they don't have to shut it down to clean it..... wish us luck!!

Potty Training... Day one

Potty train your child in 3 days... hard to believe right, but so far we are doing awesome! On Friday I told Connor we would be saying bye bye to diapers tomorrow. He was pretty pissed when I put a pull up on him before heading to our last outing of the week. Play Botique he loves his class now but we have decided to take at least a month off so we can get potty training in gear and reward him when he is completely trained by returning to classes or maybe joining Gymboree..... He kept saying "bye bye" "all done" and i was like no that's tomorrow but yes your right. So he really loved doing it last night we said bye bye for good! I snuck a pull up in his pj pants for night time and nap time today... So far so good he woke up early this morning and I took his pants and pull up off and let him roam naked from the waist down (we turned the heat up and put socks on). It took over 2 hours for him to even go lol. Which is a sign hes totally ready. I was so tired of waiting and anticipating it.... We were looking at Justin Bieber "baby" video on the ipad, but kept getting parody results so I tried to figure it out while Connor went roaming. When he came back and started playing with his ball pit I said when are you going to go pee and he said "cars"... sure enough there was pee on his cars... great I had missed the perfect opportunity and would have to wait another few hours.... we cleaned it up then he proceeded to run behind the couch and start to go I stopped him when I said no no in the potty and we ran to the potty and sat.... no luck... wow three days really this is not going to work.... We then put on mickey mouse clubhouse (great for keeping him in one area I've found) and he started to go a little again, picked him up put him on the potty and he peed a lot!!!! YAY!! He loved my potty dance thought it was hilarious! Another two hours later we sat down to eat lunch... I started to hear the sound quickly picked him up sat him on the potty but no luck... then I realized the sound I heard was it dripping on the ground so he had peed a lot in his chair.... but as we were cleaning that mess up he said pee pee potty and was heading towards the bathroom, since he had just gone I continued to clean then I heard a scream. He was pooping! Sat him on the potty and he did a big awesome poop! So proud right now if you can't tell. I hope the rest of the day goes smooth and we start to get it they said it takes about 12 times of them peeing then being put on the potty for them to get it so we've got about 7 more to go.... Tomorrow we get to be unhousebond and go out for an hour (with just pants on). I'm hoping it warms up a little so I can take him outside for a little, or maybe somewhere else.... Well wish us luck!

Sad news

Just yesterday I found out my old gymnastics coach was arrested for downloading Child Pornography on his computer. It has been plasted all over the news and Internet. Jeremy was the best and is the best gymnastics coach out there. It is so sad to see people jumping all over him and making him out to be a monster.

I remember when we fist started going to see Jeremy at OGA my junior year of high school. After taking numerous private lessons (spending thousands of dollars and hours in the gym) from coaches in the area I still couldn't tumble, I had ability but my mind wouldn't let me throw my body upside down. OGA was almost an hour away from Clackamas but Kristin had found this great tumbling coach and wanted us to go there. He yelled at us he made us cry, but guess what I finally was tumbling on my own. He was confident in me so I was too. Parents fought Kristin on the drive for years and I believe they didn't go after she quit (maybe that's why they got last in state that year...) but when I joined the coaching staff I stood by her and insisted we go there. I got my mini bus training and drove the girls myself to take the burden off parents. I even insisted on having my girls train directly with Jeremy because it wasn't worth the drive if he wasn't the coach. Jeremy teaches a different technique that makes total since. Last year my youth kiddos went to a local gym and they tried to teach them back tucks before really perfecting their round offs (really...). We finally towards the end of the year had a new coach who focused more on the things they needed to work on but it honestly felt like a waste.

When I think about children being abused and addiction and all those bad things out there I always wish there was more prevention before hand instead of fixing it afterwards. So in this case I understand why they have taken Jeremy out of the picture and don't want him with children. I believe porn can change the way you think and maybe Jeremy would have never done anything to anyone, but porn and addiction itself can lead to scary things.

He is selling his Top Notch Gymnastics Gym (if anyone is interested) and they will hopefully reopen next week and be able to continue to train. He has taught all of his coaches his techniques but it just wont be the same without the hat flying across the room because you won't throw your tumbling.

I saw Jeremy a few weekends ago at a competition. He still remembers me from when I was in high school (he mixes me up with Lara sometimes because we are now both coaches and both have red hair). He went to nationals with us and helped us train in Disney Land, he was there when I got in a car accident after a tumbling practice, he is just an all around amazing person. He was doing so great their cheer program has never been that awesome and this year they really looked good and were fun to watch. He told me he highered some new coaches and things were going great for him.

Last night I helped out at the Junior High practice and afterwards some of the parents were asking if we would be attending tumbling in the off season. Although all of that is still up in the air it really makes me sad that the parents don't even want their kids at the gym (they had a different coach than Jeremy). People are so quick to judge and I really hope the story continues and things turn out well for him and he gets the help he needs.

Jeremy is someone people look up to and admire he's a god in the cheer world. I still absolutely love him and thank him for finally getting me over my fears and giving me the ability to tumble.

Oh ya it's state this weekend and no one can train for tumbling at least all the top teams train with him so it will be even playing ground:) It should be an interesting line up OC killed it at our comp, Westview and Wilson have been battling it out, and Clackamas has a state title to defend! Go Cavs!

Gym Time!

Yes! Gary and I signed up for a gym together yesterday:) I can't believe how excited I am about working out! I hate the gym I've never been a gym person, but I loved my abs and lower body class I took in college (and probably haven't worked out since my last class). Gary loves to play basketball and has been a member at 24 in the past, but he would be gone for hours playing basketball so when he wanted to sign up again I was a little hesitant because I hated how long he was gone. At 24 it would take him 45 mins to wait to play a game and then he would play for a few games then wait another 45 mins to play again, and he didn't like that either. So we asked around about different gyms and prices and stuff and someone told us about Cascade Athletic Club in Gresham. I looked them up online and did all my research and they actually offer classes all throughout the day, totally my thing (24 didn't offer that many). And they have a kids club 20 bucks a month for unlimited (2 hr max) times or 2.50 per hour. So last night I took a group kick class and today my arms are killing me not my legs like I would have thought with a kick class, but it was lots of punches and kicks. It was a lot of fun upbeat music, hot instructor, only a few ladies who were super good so I felt really comfortable:) And people of all ages the lady next to me said it was her second class and she was probably 45 50ish... and there was some 13 year olds in there too... I was telling Gary last night that I already feel my legs toning up which is really what I need, hey I might be skinny but I am not tone or an any shape what-so-ever!

My goal is to have abs again like Marti from Hellcats:)

I have to thank all the years of cheer I have done I am still way flexible on my left side and way more coordinated on standing on my right leg (thanks to heel stretches).

And they have tanning too! &75 bucks for 30 tans that would last me like 6 months which is way cheap compared to tan republic!!! Yay I can finally not be albino anymore and I can have the people watch Connor while I go:)

Well anyways I'm way excited and going to be doing a group power class tonight and tanning:)

Here is where we will be spending our summers:
