Funny Toddler Stories

Aww motherly love. What can I say I love him to pieces, he really is a great child and I am very lucky I have had it pretty easy so far. Even though I know we are in the middle or should I say just barely beginning the terrible two's stage I'm hoping all this hard work I put into my child pays off. This morning I decided to figure out about how many words Connor knows. I've written them down a few times since he started talking but can't find the papers so today I will put them in here where they will be saved forever. I have a list of just over 40 words and keep adding to it periodically when he says something else. He says: ball, mama, dada, baby, Helee (Hailey), Nana (Hannah), Papa, more, please, up, ba ba (banana), balloon, book, color, coo coo clock, drink, eat, show, Mickey, dog, nose, ear, eye, this's (this big), there he is (there's), spoon, fork, thank you, na na (love you), meme, mono (monkey in spanish), cheese, cook, hot, go, duck, fish, phone, lion, and shark. He also says baby, more, and please in sign language so cute!

So onto some funny stories...
For Christmas he got a large piano that you step on and it plays music, he absolutely loves it! He dances like a little ballerina every time it plays. Oh Gary's just going to love seeing him dance like that:) He's also super silly he think's it is so funny after he eats to shake his whole high chair by rocking back and forth.... I'll have to get the video camera out more often to record all the funny things he does.

He has really been putting up a fight at bed time, the last couple of nights we've laid him down let him cry for about 15 minds, gone and got him let him watch his show and cuddle for 5 mins, let him pick out what he wants to take to bed and laid him back down then he's out... why he does this we still can't figure it out? The other night he decided he wanted to take his Mickey to bed. Need I remind you his Mickey sings and dances and is about half the size as him (I thought it was off to preserve battery) so when he laid down with him and was hugging and kissing him I was trying not to laugh but he went right to sleep. Gary said he heard Mickey playing at about 2:30 in the morning I guess he wasn't off, but it didn't seem to bother Connor!

Chirstmas

What a wonderful Christmas we had!!!! Connor is soooo spoiled:)

Christmas Eve day Connor and I shopped at Freddy's (it wasn't bad at all at 8am) then cooked and cooked and cooked:) We made a peppermint roll cake for dessert for Christmas, and ham, scalloped potatoes and brusselsprouts for our Christmas eve dinner with Sparkling kid wine:)
Christmas Eve we decided to open two of Connor's bigger gifts so we wouldn't have to take them over to Tracy and Ed's then bring them home... My Aunt and Uncle got him a basketball hoop!!! How much fun, now we have a basket of balls for him to shoot into the hoop he loves it!
Gary loved showing Connor how to rip off all the paper to open his gifts

Yay legos!!!! It was so cute Gary wanted to bild Connor a big castle and every time he would get one together Connor would come in and destroy it!!

Then we made cookies for santa.
It was so much fun playing Santa this year once Connor was in bed we got out his ball pit and blew it up (that was a task)... put some goodies in his stocking and went to sleep:)
Connor was so excited to see his ball pit in the morning he went straight to it! He loves making the balls go round and round
Here he is with his stocking (some forks, an elmo phone and a new toothbrush!)
Then we opened stocking before heading to the Pascos
My hubby said he wanted a card so I got him a cute one and wrote something nice to him:)

Tracy took lots of pictures during the day so this is all I have for now.

Christmas is truely special to me because of all the time I get to spend with family. It was the first time in a long time Gary and I have had the day off together and I absoulutly love my inlaws (if I haven't said that enough already they are the best) so it's great to spend the day with them:)

They love to spoil Connor as much as we do. They got him a full size kitchen with all the bells and whistles, a piano to walk on that plays music, nice winter boots, shoes, a race car rocker, kitchen supplies, a knit scarf and hat and mittens... Needless to say Connor will be busy busy busy with all his toys:)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Wow 16 days till Christmas.... I have almost everything done, just waiting on all my shipments to come in. Have I said how much I love my phone, I ordered pretty much everything off it on my amazon app!

Here's our beautiful tree!

We got a Groupon for Boring Bark $20 for a $60 tree and a free bag of coffee:) It was fun picking out our tree (next year we will hopefully be cutting it ourselves or maybe the year after that) it was one of my favorite things about Christmas time as a kid. It's been forever since we've had a real tree in the house and last year we had this tiny fake one that will someday be in Connor's room.... Why are my pics in sepia?? Oh because Connor loves to hit buttons on my camera and change the settings:)
The car ride home is the funnest part, Gary was holding tightly onto the rope from the inside and kept freaking every time it would slide (guess you can't go 60 with a tree on your roof) and he tied it down so well we had to put Connor through the window haha!
Here's Connor the next day helping me search for Christmas decorations (we had to go out to the art studio hence the cute outfit)

Yes there are presents under our tree already! I'm actually really proud of myself I have like 2 more things to get and everything is ordered.... now if it would only come in the mail and all I have to do is wrap it.
Gary and I decorated the tree on Sunday night after Connor went to bed, we figured it might be a little hard for him to understand what to do... this is the first time he saw it the next morning...
Ya he's pretty interested but he does very well he has one ornament that lights up so he really only goes for that one and it's cute to watch him try to put it back on the tree

There's his ornament:) Gotta love my boy!

Hope everyone is having a very merry Christmas! Now onto making Christmas cards:)

Sick Baby:(

My poor little Connor is sleeping right now, his tummy is all upset. Yesterday morning I tried to lay him down for a nap at 10 (we've been bumping our schedule around) and it was somewhat normal that he wasn't ready to nap yet about half an hour later I was offering him a cereal bar before trying to lay him down again and he opens his mouth to throw up all over himself and me. I was in complete shock! After a bath for the both of us and a clothing change I laid him down and he slept for an hour. When he woke up Gary went and got him but I couldn't just listen so I came in too and he wanted me to hold him, just so he could throw up all over me again! After another pj change we decided to run to Albertsons to pick up some Pedialte. Connor didn't want to stay at home with Gary so I took him with me to the store. Big mistake! He threw up all over me again right as we were walking in. Luckily a lady who worked there saw him throwing up all over me and quickly brought some paper towels, she offered to get the Pedialte for us but we got it ourselves leaving the mess behind (what nice people at grocery stores) the man in front of me who had been there before and the lady at the check out told me of some stomach medicine that might help his tummy. So we went to the pharmacy where the lady didn't seem to notice what a hurry we were in (well they might have the dissolve ones a new seasons) I'm covered in puke do I really want to go to new seasons right now. Once we got home Connor got some Pedialte we laid him down for another nap. Two hours later he seemed to be feeling much better. Driving his car even ate a little applesauce for dinner. 11:30pm threw up, changed pjs let him cuddle with us while Gary changed his sheets. But I was so worried he would puke in our bed I laid him back down 1:30 throwing up again, changed pjs and sheets let him cuddle. I had to wash all his blankets because he was down to his last comfort blanket (he noticed they weren't his real meme but they seemed to do) 5:00 awake again just really thirsty. He slept in til 8 which was very nice. He ate a banana and some smoothie only to throw it back up again:( Hopefully he is feeling better when he wakes up we have the Christmas tree to decorate tonight....

Thanksgiving

Happy Turkey Day! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thankgiving:) I know we did. We went to the beach for 5 days! Tracy and Great Grandma drove Connor and me and Hannah and Hailey rode with Ed over the snowy cascade mountains on Wednesday. Then it was 5 days of eating, watching Christmas movies, and family time.

Here's me and my little boy before our walk on the beach Thanksgiving Day

Gary went to work at midnight Thanksgiving day then drove out to the beach (he was there by nine) plenty before breakfast casserole was ready, he unfortuantly had to leave early the next morning to go back to work, but Connor enjoyed watching Barney with him:)
We went for a walk on the beach. Connor loved getting there (he has two layers on bottom and three on top) it was great to be outside, but once we got to the beach his little hands were too cold so we quickly went back to the house and sat by the fire:)

Hannah took lots of great pics of Connor that I don't have yet...

It's amazing to think last year Connor could barley sit on his own and now he's running. We had such a great time. I am truly thankful for my wonderful inlaws, my hubby, and of coarse my Connor he really means the world to me!

Connor's First Hair Cut

Well professional anyways.... Standing on the bathroom counter eating as many animal crackers as possible wasn't cutting it anymore. So we went to Great Clips...

Before..... what crazy hair!
After....
He actually did a pretty good job at staying still, he cried a little bit when she was trimming the edges:( But we all know cutting hair doesn't actually hurt and she did it really quick... maybe next time I'll take him to a place that has all the cool kid stuff instead of after running a quick arrand and being like oh you need a hair cut lets go in slippers and all:)

He loved his balloon very much and held on to it for the next day or so.... except for right when we got home...

uh oh

Up to the sky it went:( I tried distracting him knowing it would come down in the morning, but he just kept running back and standing there looking at his balloon and saying "bawon" "please please". So being the super Mom that I am, I got out the ladder and a reacher thingy I'm sure no one has used before and I got it down for him. When I first couldn't reach it and I got down from the ladder I think Connor thought he needed to try because he tried to climb up the ladder, so I said no Mommy needs to try again:) He loved watching me do it and it only went up there 1 more time....

Trip to see Santa

What a fun day! Stephanie and Danny joined Connor and I for an early trip for some Santa pictures... we both knew that being a year 1/2 our little ones might not love Santa as much as a 5 year old but we knew that waiting in line for hours wouldn't help this at all. We got there right when the mall opened and we were first in line:)

As I passed Connor to Santa he death gripped me and started freaking out so Santa suggested we sit together....
Aren't we cute??? Connor looks so much like Gary!!

Danny got a great picture! She was fully screaming this Santa was super awesome and held her very well:) After torturing our children we let them play for a while... I love sitting and talking with Steph and watching our children play!

Excited to see what next year looks like!

Christmas list

So I just mentioned Christmas... I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet but as a planner it's been on my mind for the last 3 months at least (yes even his 2nd birthday is already planned out...)

Santa will definitely be bringing Connor a....

Ball Pit!!! Gary and I have been wanting to get him one because he loves balls so much and he loves the one Henry has but we know how excited he will be Christmas morning when he sees it!

So Gary and I have talked about different things of how to keep holidays from killing our budget and we decided Connor would get 3 gifts from us (like Jesus did from the 3 wise men) one Santa gift and some small stocking stuffers.... So from us we were thinking a box of new clothes

Gotta love Old Navy.... 30% off everything this week
Some books....

And some puzzles....
He's getting really good at putting the ones he has together....

And Grandma can cover anything else he could possibly need....
So Connor is pretty easy it's just a matter of finding some good deals, it's Gary that I have a hard time with he wants something with his car that helps it run better or something which he is getting but I want him to be able to open something.... Last year he got a few small things and he seemed kinda disappointed even though he told me he didn't want anything and I know he will be happy with this car thing but I think he likes having stuff to open too??? I was thinking the general boxers t-shirts deodorant all little stocking stuffer stuff but I can't think of anything else! At least I have time....

Happy Holidays!

Almost 18 months....

Can't even begin to believe my little baby boy is almost a year and a half.... Sooner than I know it we will be putting him on the bus and sending him to school :( Here he is coloring with markers! A new exciting thing for him!

I've really been looking forward to this 18 month marker, I mean he's supposed to be out of the whinny I can't communicate phase and onto the talking and telling you what he wants right?? Well were getting there....
Or maybe going backwards.... he has recently rediscovered his bumbo.... oh and look at his cute slippers I got him:) I want a pair! Poor guy was slipping and slidding with just socks on so I had to get him some slippers to keep his little toeseys warm:)

Here he is with Daddy. He loves to wear Gary's sunglasses, or take them off....

Just before I get the picture....
So in other news he has compltely changed his schedule.... he went from a morning nap 10-12 and afternoon lay down sometimes nap 3-4 to just one nap 1-3:30. So I have been showering at night so I don't have to wait till 1 to get ready especially if we have stuff to do.... I'm excited for this change though at his school they have an after play time from 10:30- 12:30 that we can go to now, maybe this is why he shifted?? He heard me saying oh no we have to get home for nap so he doesn't sleep in the car... he really wanted to stay last week, well we can this week!

Ever since last art class he has been coloring like crazy!!! Maybe art supplies will be on his list for christmas this year....

Hope everyone has a great week! I know I have!

Yay for fall!

Ok, so I don't love how cold it is all the time and I hate the way the rain makes my hair look, but it's so beautiful outside! And it means all the exciting holidays are here!

Halloween:)
Look at my little lion

He was so cute! He loved going to the houses (we only did 5) but he thought it was pretty fun! It's crazy how just a year ago Gary was front packing him and this year he was running from door to door. Next year he will be saying Trick o Treat!

Hailey was a dead ballerina this year! She made her own costume:) Her and Connor are always so cute together:) Hannah was Lady Gaga! She looked awesome:)

I can't believe in a few weeks we will be heading to the beach for Thanksgiving! I can hardly wait to eat all the yummy food! I am so thankful for my family, my in-laws, and of coarse Gary and Connor they really make my world.

So currently I am working on a collection of favorite recipes, I can't stand looking through thousands of cookbooks to find what I'm looking for so I've been working on putting together just our favorites and things we eat often... I will probably be asking for suggestions from friends to add to my collection of recipes. YUM

Today was our first day of Play Boutique we took a creative art class!!! Hopefully the teachers will stay healthy and the business will stay running... It's out in Lake Oswego which is a little bit of a drive but Connor seemed to love it! We glued tissue paper to make a flower, and did some Picasso drawings (well I did at least, but Connor helped!) He wanted all of the tissue paper on top of his flower! It was really fun to be able to do this type of stuff with Connor I would never do it on my own and he gets to interact with other kids:)

Isn't he cute?!?

Happy Fall Everyone!
